Port Headland with Fatty!

Port Headland

Finally we were able to clean the van and car!! 3 months of dust, dirt and Gibb River rubble cleaned and back to new again!  Fatty's (Heath Daniel) house in Port Headland where we spent about 4 night RnR before continuing South. A big thanks to Fatty for looking after us in Port!

Fatty took us down to the viewing area and the bulk carrier you can see that has just gone past us he rang the pilot and he blew the big horn for the kids...very cool! Just like kids again signalling a truck driver to blow his air-horn but about 100 times louder!

Heath arranged for me to fly out with him on his next pilot job with the chopper.  Unreal to see the Port from above and continuing constuction/work on new port facilities as you can see in this shot in forground.  Background is out to the parking lot and onto the bulk carrier.

Coming in to land on the carrier. When full of Iron Ore there is only black on the hull visible....all that red is underwater!

A blast from the past!!! We caught up with my old school friends Kate and Mick Barsby from Emmaus College.  I was in Kates year and we (Linda Schable, Kate and I) walked home every day from school.  Kate and Mick were school sweethearts and have a lovely family and doing well in Port.  Dinner was chilly/ginger mud crab we brought 7 alive from Willie Creek with us.
