Cleaverville Beach

Cleaverville Beach

We chanced upon (by word of mouth) a fantastic little place called Cleaverville Beach between Port Headland and Karatha!  It was $7 a night with a dump point nearby and rubbish bins and a total bargain for our liking.  The views were magnificent and the reef could be walked each low tide with coral pools full of fishes, coral and a large population of octopus it would seem?  We spent 3 nights here and happy to say that the girls (Jess and Kacie) have learned to really be water wise and showers for everyone every night without a problem and never ran out of water.

Jessica's camp fire and a nice little camp set up on Cleaverville Beach.  Top spot in our books!

One of the many octopus in the rock pools low tide? Amazing what they can squeeze themselves into to hide from us!
View of our camp from low tide picking oysters in the rocks and walking the coral pools and exploring.
Nice weather and view towards Dampier from camp.
Oysters Kilpatrick ala Kacie!  We picked a jar of oysters then found shells on the beach suitable to hold a few oysters which we topped up with cooked bacon and worcestershire sauce then heated it all in the webber! Sensational!
YUMMMY!!!
We headed south then and visited Karatha and Dampier.  The Dampier archipelago is magnificent but we chose to move on to try and get to some snorkerling grounds close to a camp and beach while it's still warm enough.
Kacie had not see Red Dog so we made her watch it with us all in our Queen bed in the van.  Tears all round needless to say.  As I type this we lost our old dog Rusty today (4th July) so very sad camp presently!
